H.Y.S.I.V.R.D.

Time passes so quickly nowadays. I didn't have the time to post anything recently. Well, I'm in the middle of my SA1 examinations. And many times have occurred in the past days since I last posted. Lets see...
Ok, I continued my I.S.S (Intensive Study Session) with Vijay. And well, lets just say... he ASKS STUPID QUESTIONS. "Cliff, what's the meaning of Study Room ah?", "Cliff, how to draw my ideas ah?", "Cliff, what is quotes?". God, I CAN'T STAND IT ANYMORE. I JUST WANNA TRY MY LAPTOP AT HIM!! Wait, no. My laptop's too expensive. :S But I did managed to frustrate him back.

Hi, you stupid idiotic Vijay Ramasamy Deepan

I couldn't help it but type this out when he asked me to help with his DnT (Design and Technology) presentation board. Gosh, I'm so evil. xD

While flipping through Vijay's folio (he asked me to see through it to see if it was good enough for submission), I saw this drawing (or rather, the word below it) and couldn't stop laughing.

Ass-tro-noid

This was a drawing by Mr. Low and was meant to help Vijay generate ideas. But I really wonder... was Mr. Low making fun of Vijay's ass too when he drew it? :P

OMG!

This scene pretty much shocked me. I mean, I know Vijay is attractive and all, but DILLION! I DIDN'T EXPECT DILLION TO HAVE AN AFFAIR WITH VIJAY! :S Well, you can see in the picture that Vijay and Dillion is umm... expressing their love for each other with Damian helping by poking Vijay's *ah hem* with a protractor.

Choked Toliet Bowl

Some idiot choked the toilet bowl AGAIN! ARRGH! GOD DAMN THESE IDIOTS! :S Well, I WAS in a rush for the toilet... Just let me vent my anger for having to search for another toilet! :D

*photo deleted at the request of Budi*

A portrait of Budi Patiran by Damian Chong. Pretty mind boggling real. Well... except the body proportions and well, his body size. But hey, no hard feelings here, okay Budi? :)

Sagiko Soft Jelly Drink

Sagiko Soft Jelly Drink. :) Jelliciously good stuff introduced by, and paid for by, my gay boy *LAUGHS OUT LOUD* Phuay Hao. Refreshing drink that tastes more like a desert than a drink. In fact, most of it was Jelly. You had to gurgle the jelly in your mouth for it to 'magically' become a liquid. :P

Me and My Brother

And well, last but not least, a picture of me and my 'brother'! :D Well, many people say me and Marcus look alike. I'm just curious if we really do look alike. Feel free to drop a comment to tell me if we do look alike. :)

Things The Grandchildren Should Know

Been watching my dad prepare Chinese tea lately. Really fascinating stuff. The aroma emerging from the cup was just so pungent. If only there was a way of capturing the smell; If only people had already invented a way to capture smell. But at least the aroma of tea can be smelt for years to come...

One day, I was eating one of my favourite local snack (I have no idea whats it called despite living in Singapore for all of my life) when I suddenly wondered if years down the road the snack would still be around. Well, that's the problem with our modern society. Due to competitiveness among countries nowadays, people have become more and more educated. As a result, no one wants to do the 'odd' jobs of sweeping the roads, selling food in a hawker centre, etc. Will our local delicacies disappear in a flash? When I'm old, will I still be able to enjoy the same local snack I enjoyed when I was young? I don't think anyone has an answer for this. Only time will tell...

I recall the time when my grandmother was still around. She used to prepare such a delicious bowl of Curry Fish head that I could have ate it for days in a row without feeling tired of the taste. However, she began to get sick and that was when she stopped cooking for my family. In fact, she couldn't walk anymore and was lying on the bed most of the time. When I was 13 or 14, she passed away and after that, I could never ever taste her Curry Fish head again. Don't take it wrong that I only care about the food she prepared though, I do love my grandmother very much. I remember on her deathbed, I was so sad and frightened that I couldn't bare to touch her or say my last goodbye at all. I could only sit in the corner and brawl my eyes out. Up till this day, I still regret not spending enough time with my grandmother. But what made me sad was that she left behind nothing to celebrate her by. All that is left of her are in photos, videos and in my memories. If only she had left behind her Curry Fish head recipe. Then at least when we're preparing or eating it, we can still feel her presence in the bowl of Curry Fish head. But there no use crying over spilled milk really, time waits for no man and we should not stop in our tracks feeling regretful. We should just keep going on.

Recently, I have read this amazing book by Mark Oliver Everett called 'Things The Grandchildren Should Know'. The first time I saw this book in the bookstore, I was drawn to it by its title and the simplicity of the book cover. However, it was a bit pricey. S$41 dollars or so (Probably due to the fact that its a hard cover version); Enough to buy at least 2 albums. But after reading the book, I must say that every dollar was well spent. That's just how good the book was.

Mark Oliver Everett (Better known as E or the front man of 'Eels') writes about his life in this book from the time he was a toddler to the time after he performs at the Royal Albert Hall. I got hooked to the book from the start, where he described about how he wanted to commit suicide after his sister had attempted to kill herself and his father had died, to the end when he accomplished his dream of making music for a living. While reading the book, you will, no doubts, feel for the man. I won't go into the details of the story though. Just go get a copy from the nearby library (doubt they have the book though) and read it. (And Soshi, no. I won't lend the book to you! :P)

Heres a song by Eels - 'Mr. E's Beautiful Blues' from their album 'Daisies Of The Galaxies'. Enjoy :)

Been studying till 11.30 every night with Vijay at Serangoon Gardens Country Club. Two nights in our so called 'Intensive Studying Session' (Let's just call it ISS for short) and I'm dead beat. Had to rest for the whole Thursday afternoon to get myself rejuvenated. Thats what ISS with Vijay does to a human body. It undergoes so much pressure and stress when I answer Vijay's dumb questions that my body collapses after 2 nights. Thank god, theres no ISS today! :)

Its a month since Haren and Carl has been together. Lets wish them happy first month! :P

Truth or Dare?!

Today Damian, Vijay and me went to Toa Payoh Library to study. And well, as usual, it was a 3-hour-play-1-hour-work session. Damian spotted the word 'Technology' somewhere and suggested to search through the place for some Design and Technology (DnT) guide/reference books. And so we went in circles on the library's 2nd floor searching for them. After going round the floor a few times (it definitely didn't feel like just a few rounds; it felt like at least 15 rounds...), we gave up our search on that particular floor and decided to go to the 3rd floor in search of the 'holy grail'. Our efforts were fruitless and we almost gave up our hopes when we spotted the computer guidance desk (or whatever its called...).

Vijay: Aiyah! Stupid ah we! Got the stupid computer here and we went round the 2nd floor 3, 4 times!
Damian: Your fault lah, stupid Vijay. Make us go round the 2nd floor!
Me: *laughing hysterically*
Vijay: Quick search la, Chong (refering to Damian)! Later let me use. I wanna search Pokemon.
Damian: Ok la, you childish indian!
Vijay: What the freak?!
*A few moments pass as Damain searches for DnT reference books and copies their serial number down...*
Vijay: Ok, done? Type Pokemon now- wait! Type soccer. I wanna read more story books about soccer.
Vijay (after seeing the results of searching 'Soccer'): What the freak?! Whats this kick the soccer ball with style?! I wanna read soccer books. Chong, type Goal.
Vijay (after seeing the results of searching 'Goal'): What the freak?! Whats this reaching your goals?! Wah lao eh, Chong. Ok, never mind, lets go down to the first floor and ask the help desk where the books are.

And so, we got into the lift and headed for the ground floor. However, the lift stopped at the 2nd floor and Vijay walked out of the lift, thinking it was the ground floor, almost knocking into the incoming crowd of people in the process. Finally discovering it was only the 2nd floor, Vijay backed into the lift. As the incoming crowd rushed into the lift, the doors attempted to close and a couple got shocked by it. In the end, they threw cold, cruel stares at Vijay. I swear a knife could have cut the tension in the lift. Vijay was oblivous to it as usual though.

The help desk (or whatever its called...) didn't prove to be much help and we ended up on the 2nd floor again, looking for the books ourselves. After a few silent minutes of searching, we finally found the shelf where the books were. However, we had a new problem; Damian had forgotten to write down the books' names (Damn you Damian. :P). We gave up on searching for the books and headed for MacDonald's instead (there were hardly any space left in the library to study).

MacDonald's was crowded too and there was a sign at the foot of the stairs leading to the 2nd floor indicating there was a birthday party going on at that floor. So we decided to hang out at Long John's Silver while waiting for the party to end (the party was going to end in 10 minutes or so...). After staying at Long John's Silver for 5 minutes, we somehow made a U-turn and headed back for MacDonald's. Upon further investigation by detective Vijay, we discovered that the birthday party wasn't occupying the whole of the 2nd floor and that we had been wasting our time.

And guess who we met on the 2nd floor? Budi Patiran! :D Heh, our good friend Budi was studying with a friend (its a male friend. Don't let your imaginations get wild, Soshi.). We left him alone though. We didn't want to influnce him :S

After a hour or so of talking crap, we settled down for some business. However, after another hour, Damian and me couldn't take it anymore and we pulled Vijay along for some Truth Or Dare. Below are some recordings of our conversation during Truth Or Dare:

I was suppose to delete this blog as a dare but well, why should I entertain Vijay that bastard? :S I'm just so damn curious what he will do on Monday when he discovers I haven't delete the blog yet...hmm...hope I get his expression on tape though. Wish me luck. Its gonna be a tough challenge surviving Vijay. :S

And here are some photos:

Fall of Troy!

My back's been acting up again. Didn't think I would have survived today but somehow, I did. I had a back injury when I was primary 4. It was a very painful experience but I was fortunate that it only lasted a few days. That injury came back yesterday though. I'm not too sure whether its the same injury from back then. But it certainly reminds me of the pain I went through when I was primary 4.

Anyways, here's a brief summary of what happened the past few days:

We had a school holiday on Wednesday in lieu of the good 'O' Levels results the previous batch had. Got up and went to study with Vijay (Yes people YES! The lovable Vijay Ramasamy Deepan! ;D) at Serangoon Gardens Country Club at 11 a.m. Then after studying, I bid farewell to Vijay at Serangoon Interchange and headed to Bugis Street with Fin. Got the clothes he wanted and a hat for me (I did mention I'm a Patrick Stump wannabe right? :P). Went out for dinner with my family to celebrate my Mom's birthday (Happy Birthday again, Mummy! :D). We got unwanted stares from people as my father parked the car. I was bewildered at first but I soon realised why passer-bys were staring at us with so much disgust. The car had 'stepped' on 'dog shit'. There was a foul odor in the air and upon further investigation, I discovered that there were scraps of what appeared to be shit (Shit from which creature I have no idea though...) on the car tyres. It was a horrible sight. Flies being attracted to the 'aroma' and bits of shit dripping down from the car tyre. I had to force myself not to look at the sight. The rest of the night passed without any troubles and we arrived home early to prepare for school the next day.

And Thursday was yet another day in school. The only thing that bothered me was my increasingly painful back. It was affecting me for the whole day and hopefully, it wouldn't affect my Chinese mock test (I was struggling with the pain on my back while doing the paper). Things got a bit 'disgusting' at night. I had English tuition that night and fortunately James was there to make up for a previously missed session (I swear I would have died of boredom there if not for him...). James had gone to Sentosa on Saturday and was left sunburnt after the experience. And that bastard had to peel his dead skin and throw at me. This is reality, folks. In the real world, your friends enjoy doing things that irritate you. Even if you insist that they stop... (I'm talking about you SOSHI! xP) Well anyways, after that night, Mrs Tan (our English Tuition teacher) refused to let James and me sit together. Oh boy...wish me good luck in surviving English tuition from now on, people...

And now we jumped to the present age. Friday. I had a real scare today. After Design and Technology (DnT) class, I realised that my folio was missing. I phoned Fin, Budi, Shouheng, Elijah, Damian, Kenrick, Dillion and no one had my folio. I was beginning to panic this time. Then suddenly, I felt my phone vibrating and I picked it up. It was Soshi. After several minutes, I discovered my folio was actually with FIN! And I remembered phoning him and asking if my folio was with him...I swear that Ariffin is really a blur sotong sometimes. He scared me there...Just imagine the amount of work I had to redo! But this incident really showed me what good friends I have. When I phoned my friends, asking about my folio, all of them were worried for me and tried to help me with my missing folio. As a matter of fact, I just received a phone call from Budi asking me if I had found my folio. What good friends...I have to admit I would miss them when I graduate from school. Hope I will still be in contact with them till the day I die...

Heres some photos of the past few days:

Happy Birthday, Mating Lizards and 'Macam Faham'...

A few days since I last blogged. Sorry guys, but I had a few thousand reasons not to blog: too lazy, too tired, not enough time, photo uploading is too slow, don't know how to start, etc. Weirdly enough, ever since I've started blogging, things start to happen to me. Maybe its just because now that I have a blog, I've started remembering things better (to fill in the blog of course...). Just imagine how dull this blog would be without those 'lovely' quotes and nonsense that I somehow managed to remember.

I'll start with Monday then. What can I say about Monday? As much as I try, I can't remember much of what had happened in school. I do remember Ju Eng Home though...something that I can't forget about for many years to come... As part of our Community Involvement Programme (CIP, for short), we were to visit a home for the elderly, Ju Eng Home.

Some of us played football with the lower Secondary students while waiting for the bus heading for Ju Eng Home and to our utter disbelief, Shouheng SCORE TWO GOALS. IT WAS JUST HIS FIRST TIME PLAYING FOOTBALL EVER AND HE SCORED. TALK ABOUT LUCK!

The majority of us did regret playing football after that though. We were sweaty, thirsty and stinky. Especially Vijay. He had rushed to the toilet to wash himself up but when he return, he still stink! And much to our horror, THAT BASTARD CHANGED ON THE BUS. Cameras started snapping and there were screams of "AHHHH!!! STINK BOMB!!!! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!" here and there. Fortunately, he didn't take his sweet time to change though; We would have all fainted by the time we reached Ju Eng Home.

Ju Eng Home wasn't what we had expected though. I was with the Interaction crew and when we'd reached the 2nd floor, we were in a shock. Sitting there in rows of tables were the elderly. We weren't shocked by them or their sitting arrangement actually. We were more shocked by the expression on their faces. Some had the look of delight. Of having someone to talk to. Some had the look of fear. Fear of what this group of teenagers would do to them. While others had the look of longing. Of remembering their own sons and daughters. I couldn't help feeling for them. Couldn't help but think why would a son or a daughter send their own parents to an old folks' home.

At the beginning, we were fearful of them. We were afraid that they would ignore what we say or that we wouldn't understand what they say. But after awhile, we eventually got used to the place and began to act more naturally. We ended our 2 hour visit to Ju Eng Home by singing/humming along with Vitamin C's Graduation Song, beautifully (if I can say so myself... ;P) accompanied by Elijah and Soshi's guitar strumming. I really hope that we could remain friends forever like in the lyrics of the song...

After the visit to Ju Eng Home, I went for tuition and on my way back from tuition, I saw this:

Eww...

Was pretty disgusted when I passed by it but I still couldn't help but to snap this photo down. :P

Found a plastic plane on my brother's bed when I'd got home. I was surprised by how far it could fly so I decided to see what happens if you throw it vertically while lying down. In the end, the plane came crashing down onto my head. Ow! Heres a picture of the aeroplane:

Fly!

Ooh! And before I forget. Heres photos of the birthday card my brother made for my mom (Happy Birthday, Mum...!):

Open the birthday card!
Open! Open! Open! Open...the card! :D

'Happy Birthday Mom!'
Surprise! :)

I got addicted to Malay! :P Probably being influenced by our 'half-malay half-chinese' friend Kenrick, I started to learn Malay too. Here are a few words I learnt so far:

Do Not (Restricting) - Jangan
I - Saya (when speaking to someone of higher authority) / aku (when speaking to friends)
Toliet - Tandas / Bilik Air
Need - Perlu
Go - Pergi
Fart - Kentut
Urine - Kencing
Know - Tahu
Love - Sayang
Allow - dibenarkan
Do Not - Tidak
To - Ke
Like you know like that - Macam Faham

Hopefully, I will remember all this words...just have fun and mix and match the words! Example, I do not need to go toliet - Aku tidak perlu ke pergi tandas. :) Had fun with these few words today. Tell me if theres anything wrong with them though!

The Adventures Of Me And My Hat!

Me and my trusty had a bit of an adventure today. Actually, as long as I'm wearing my hat, theres something that bound to happen. Guess interesting stuffs like my hat. :)

Went to Serangoon McDonald's for yet another round of 'studying'. Round one was last night with Soshi and Shouheng. And well, all I can say is that I went home with my stomach all sore from laughing. After that painful experince, I couldn't laugh properly anymore and my laughter, or rather a futile attempt at it, made me sound like I had an asthma attack.

Fin (after hearing me laugh): You okay or not? You sound like you gonna have an asthma attack.
Vijay: Yeah. Relax la. Don't laugh until like that.
Fin: Later if you really have an asthma attack we will think you laughing only

Thats how I found out I was laughing like I had asthma attack. But don't blame me though. The previous night had taken its toll. My stomach couldn't handle the intense amount of laughing anymore. Guess you probably guess what our 'studying' is now, huh? Just to sit at a McDonald's and 'lepak' (Malay for slack, if I spelled it right.) And let me just say. Today was no different. 15 minutes of telling Vijay just how sucky his Design and Technology (DnT), 10 minutes on the phone with Shouheng telling him we were at SERANGOON MCDONALD'S and not Kovan McDonald's, 1 hour looking at Fin's tablet PC and well 30 minutes of pure working on my own DnT folio.

Talking about the word 'pure', I listened to something interesting about 'purely studying' from the wise, wise Bangla last night.

Me: Come on! We're purely studying TODAY!
Soshi: You CAN'T purely study. Theres no such thing.
Me: ...really?
Soshi: Yeah. You just can't do ONLY studying.
Me: Actually thats true. You always study while listening music. Studying while talking rubbish with friends. Studying while breathing...
Soshi: Precisely!

As you can see, never underestimate Soshi. Hes one cunning bastard. :S

Luckily for me, Soshi followed me along to study last night. If he didn't come along, I would be all alone at McDonald's because the ASSHOLE who TOLD ME to meet him there DIDN'T APPEAR. (I swear, Vijay, you are such a retard. GO PLAY STREET SOCCER SOMEMORE! LET ME WAIT THERE!)

And today, Vijay had his just deserts. We made him wait at Serangoon McDonald's for an hour before arriving.

Heres some photos at McDonald's:

Me, Vijay and...Fin's finger.

Vijay and Internet!

I'm Lovin' It!
We're Lovin' Fin's Tablet PC :D

Stop and stare...
Ok girls, I know Vijay is attractive...but please. STOP STARING AT HIM! xP

Weird Shaped Fries
Weird looking Fries... (or is it fry?)

Interesting...
Just WHAT are you typing, Fin? -.-
And well, after dinner, I went to Kinokuniya. Interestingly, Kinokuniya is one of the best spots to take photos of weird things. And well, I also discovered Kinokuniya can also make you do weird stuff. Take my dad for example. After paying for the books, he tried to stuff the recipt into my brother's head. Just what was he thinking? Doing that won't get his money back! :P Heres some photos of Kinokuniya:

The Science of Emotions.
Hmm...'The Science Of Emotions'. Anyone feeling emo? :S

The Zen of Fish
Just felt weird looking at this. 'The story of Soshi, from samurai to supermarkets'

Kill The Messenger!
This proves I'm addicted to Jack's Mannequin. I took a picture of a book that has the same name as one of their songs!

I'm sooo gonna get that Sony A200 soon! I feel weird taking photos with my phone...with a 'professional' phone, I won't feel so anymore! Anyone willing to donate money? Contact me on MSN! :P

Being a jackass in the bathroom...

Nothing much happened in class...well, except Vijay's stupidness...yet again.

Vijay's Masterpiece

Amazing how he just passed the Presentation Board marking. 'The Product MUST have more than 5 steps to operate' *LAUGHS OUT LOUD* We're suppose to improve the standard of living of the people and yet, here he is, making people's living worse...

And how can I forget? Thanks, my bangla friend for teaching me drums! :D I promise I will not forget your wise teachings and will carry on practising with chopsticks! :S

Nothing else happened in class though. But after school, while bathing, I decided to try something out. I put soap into my nostrils, thinking that something magical would happen. However, nothing happened and so I decided to clean my nose up with the hose. For some funny reason, I was choked by the water and I gagged. Sometimes, I can really be a jackass...

Me: Wheres this month's issue of Games Axis?
Chester (my brother): I hid it...
Me: Pass it over...
Chester: ...
Me: You liar! Coz I have it with me now!
Chester: Really? Pass to me?
Me: Aha! I bluff you!
Chester: ...
Me: You pass me money. I buy for you!
Chester: Since when you so kind?
Me: Of course! I'm your elder brother! If I not kind, then who will be kind? Of course, with some commission...
Chester: ...Dream on...I will only give you commision of you help me buy NC16 movies and games!

OH MY GOD MAN! I'm still laughing now...never knew my brother will go to such desperate measures to get NC16 games! Well...now I know... :P

Okay, this is what JUST happened:

Chester (barging into my room, holding a Game Axis magazine): See! I got the April issue!
Me (recognizing the Game Axis magazine): Don't be stupid man. Thats not April issue! I read that magazine already!
Chester: How you know...

Never knew my brother was so...'smart'. To think he got 100 marks for his Maths test...I'm still laughing now though...

Got PoA test tomorrow, wish me luck! ;)
